About the Author
Hanzala Osbert Zema once served as teacher of English Language and Literature in English at Kabompo Boarding Secondary School in Kabompo District of North-Western Province of Zambia. He wrote Mary Mafiga of Mapambu while serving as acting Deputy Head Teacher at Kayombo Day Secondary School which is located in Kabompo District.
What motivated Hanzala to start writing was the loneliness he felt due to being away from his family as well as being within a forest which was being exploited for its Rose Wood, and other tree species. The day the tree he used to see first, each time he opened the door to his house, was cut, was the day he started writing this book because of the pain he felt in his heart.
