
Eric Mataba Kamwi
About the Author
Eric Mataba Kamwi, is an accomplished lawyer, having been admitted to practice law in Zambia in November, 1999. At the time of publishing the book, Kamwi is the Managing Partner at Messrs EMK and Associates, a Lusaka based law firm specialized in civil litigation and business transactions.
Prior to setting up the law firm in 2017, he worked for the Electoral Commission of Zambia in various capacities in the legal department, rising to the position of Commission Secretary and Head of Legal Department. He participated in drafting several electoral laws, including the Electoral Acts of 2006 and 2016, as well as the Code of Conduct that regulates the media, observers and political parties during elections.
Kamwi also participated in the 2008 Constitutional Reforms established by President Levy Patrick Mwanawasa and also chaired Constitutional Reforms of the Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC member states. He participated in Presidential election petitions in 2001, 2006 and 2008 and in several Parliamentary and Local Government elections disputes.
He is Vice President of the Bible Society of Zambia and chairs its Executive Committee. In addition, Kamwi is Board Chairperson of Dovecote College of Health Sciences and a board member of Lima Investment, a business unit of the New Apostolic Church of Zambia. He is a Bishop in the New Apostolic Church.
