Who this page is for
This page explains how to delete an account on the Sotrane Publishers website (sotranepublishers.com) and in the Sotrane Publishers Android app. The website and the app use the same account, so deleting it in one place deletes it everywhere.
Delete your account yourself
You can delete your account at any time, straight away, without contacting us:
- Sign in on the website or in the Android app.
- Open your Dashboard, then Profile.
- At the bottom of the page, under "Delete account permanently", type your sign-in email address to confirm.
- Press "Delete permanently". You are signed out and the account is gone. This cannot be undone.
Ask us to delete it
If you cannot sign in, or would rather we did it, email info@sotranepublishers.com from the address your account uses, with the subject "Delete my account". We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours before we delete it, so that nobody can remove someone else's account. We aim to complete a request within 30 days.
What is deleted
When an account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your sign-in details and profile, including your profile photo.
- Your author record, books in progress and the files uploaded to them.
- Your messages, notifications, live chat and support history held against the account.
- Your consultancy wallet, bookings and sessions. Any unused tokens or complimentary time are lost.
What may be kept, and why
Some records are not part of the account itself and are kept where the law or legitimate business needs require them:
- Shop orders, invoices, donation and token payment records, which we must keep for tax and accounting purposes. These hold the name, phone number and delivery details given at the time, but are no longer linked to an account.
- Signed publishing agreements, royalty statements and other records of money owed or paid, for as long as the agreement or the law requires.
- A short internal note that an account was deleted, with no name or email address, so that we can show the deletion took place.
- Comments you left on public articles may remain as "[Comment deleted by user]" where other people have replied to them.
