A Family Adventure by Chanju Mwanza is a bilingual children's book presented in English and Lozi. Developed through the Zambian Narratives Project, it was created to respond to the limited availability of early-childhood books that pair English with Zambian national languages. The story introduces family vocabulary while using everyday Zambian images to question gender stereotypes and show children familiar aspects of family life. The bilingual structure makes the book useful for homes, schools, libraries and diaspora families that want children to build reading confidence in English while also seeing Lozi treated as a language worthy of books. It can support vocabulary development, shared reading between generations and conversations about family roles.
