About the Author

Katongo Sabina Mulenga Chifwepa is a remarkable individual whose legacy continues to inspire. A distinguished public servant, development planner, and public policy and reform specialist, she is a strong advocate for sustainable development. With over three decades of experience in organizational, institutional, and human development, she has held key leadership roles in Zambia’s public sector and civil society.

Most notably, she served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs and in the Management Development Division at the Cabinet Office. A committed Catholic, Katongo also served as the Caritas Coordinator for the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in East Africa (AMECEA). She holds a Master of Science in Development Planning and Management.

Current Role

Katongo is the Director of the Vitalicy Chifwepa Legacy Foundation, through which she continues to champion social justice and gender equality. The foundation reflects her late husband’s dedication to mentorship and community development by promoting education and empowering local communities.

Literary Work

She is the author of I Remember Vitalicy, a heartfelt tribute that captures the essence of her late husband's life and service. The book highlights his impact on education and community development, serving as a powerful source of inspiration and legacy preservation.

Katongo was the devoted wife of the late Dr. Vitalicy Chifwepa, a celebrated educator and mentor. She is a loving mother and grandmother, committed to nurturing future generations with principles of integrity, service, and legacy.
