Yahya Kandeh is a passionate storyteller and emerging author from The Gambia, whose life journey is as compelling as the narratives he weaves. Raised in a small village where education was not prioritised, Yahya defied the odds to become a beacon of hope within his community. His dedication to learning and perseverance through adversity led him to achieve significant academic success, making him one of the first university graduates from his village.

Yahya’s debut book, The Journey of the Village Boy, published by SOTRANE Publishers (Zambia), chronicles his inspiring path from the humble beginnings of his rural upbringing to his aspirations of making a difference in the world.
