Victoria Phiri Chitungu, Director of the Livingstone Museum, specializes in documenting Zambian cultures and histories. Her extensive research has led to significant museum exhibitions and publications.
Publications and Historical Work
She is the author of "101 Years After the War: Memories and Family Stories of the First World War in Zambia". In 2017, she led a team to document the lives of Zambia's Presidents, including Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, resulting in her 2021 book "Kenneth Kaunda: Last of a Great Generation".
Leadership and Cultural Advocacy
Victoria serves as a cultural consultant for the Women’s History Museum Zambia, is a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), and holds roles with the International Committee of Education and Cultural Action (CECA) and the African Museums and Heritage Restitution (AFRIHARE), advocating for the protection of African artifacts and heritage in the diaspora.
