Hello! I am Sydney Muponda, a passionate educator, writer, and advocate for literacy and development. My work is driven by a deep belief in the transformative power of words and education to shape societies and uplift communities.
Background and Education
I was raised in Zambia, surrounded by oral traditions, books, and community narratives that shaped my intellectual curiosity. I earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Literacy and Development from the Zambian Open University, alongside a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Arts with Education from Kwame Nkrumah University.
Writing and Research Interests
My writing focuses on literacy, identity, and cultural narratives. Through academic and creative work, I seek to contribute to meaningful dialogue on education, social transformation, and African knowledge systems.
Leadership and Service
I serve as the Managing Director of SOTRANE Publishers, where I am committed to publishing impactful Zambian literature, mentoring emerging writers, and supporting national literacy initiatives.
Personal Interests
