About the Author

My name is Laika Sarah Phiri. I am a young writer from Lusaka, Zambia and currently a Form One pupil at Tick Private School.

Writing Journey

I enjoy writing children’s stories and religious fiction. My works include MWEMBE the Tree and CHITU the Rabbit, as well as an award-winning religious short story that earned me first prize in a 2024 writing competition.

Inspiration

Writing helps me express myself, improve my creativity, and build confidence. I am inspired by positivity, faith, and the desire to grow into a better writer.

Interests

Outside school and writing, I enjoy church activities, especially Pathfinder Club, baking, spending time with family, and making dresses for my dolls.
