Dr. Kachikoti Banda, a distinguished scholar and practitioner, holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Engineering from the University of Zambia. His foundational education was completed in Zambia, attending Petauke Basic School, Lundazi Township School, and Chizongwe Boys Technical High School.
Academic Credentials
Dr. Banda's academic achievements include a Diploma in Environmental Health (incorporating Meat and Other Foods Inspections) from Evelyn Hone College, a Bachelor's Degree from Mulungushi University, and a Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering from the University of Zambia. He has also acquired specialized qualifications in Green Economy from Namibia and participated in the City Leadership Initiative training under Bloomberg Philanthropies in the USA. Dr. Banda is a two-time specialist trainee from Japan, studying Sustainable Solid Waste Management for African Countries (2019) and Urban Waste Management with emphasis on collection, transportation, and disposal (2023).
Professional Career
With over a decade of experience in central and local government, Dr. Banda is a respected figure in Local Government Administration, Public Health, Waste Management, and Circular Economy in Zambia. His expertise and commitment to addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development are widely recognized. He currently serves as the Managing Partner for AfriCycle Zambia.
