Ian Mbewe, a teacher by profession, attended Mufulira Secondary School where he was an active member of the School Press Club.

He is currently teaching at Kamba Secondary School in Ndola and is a trained examiner of Literature in English by the Examination Council of Zambia.

Ian holds a Primary School Teacher Certificate from Mufulira College of Education, a Secondary School Teacher Diploma from the then Nkrumah College of Education, a Bachelor of Arts with Education from Kwame Nkrumah University, and a Master of Arts in Literature from the University of Zambia.

He has authored several books, including A Complete Guide on Mission to Kala, published under SOTRANE Publishers.
