
Dorothy Kasanda (PhD)
About the Author
Dorothy Kasanda (PhD) has an impressive history in education extending over 30 years. Since 2007, she has served at CAMFED Zambia in various leadership roles including Head of Programmes, Deputy Executive Director, Director for Partnerships, Executive Advisor, and currently as National Director.
Career in Education
Dorothy began as a teacher of English and French, rising to become Head of Languages in several high schools across Zambia. She later joined the Ministry of Education headquarters, where she was involved in BESSIP (Basic Education Sub-sector Investment Programme), managing capacity building and playing a key role in restructuring the Ministry.
Civil Society Leadership
She expanded her career into civil society, working with FAWEZA (Forum for African Women Educationalists of Zambia) as Programme Manager and Acting National Coordinator before joining CAMFED.
