About
My name is Sitongwa Trywell Hamanjanji a Zambian literary scholar and researcher. I successfully wrote and submitted a Masters in Literature dissertation at University of Zambia. I hold a Bachelor’s degree and diploma in secondary school teaching. I live Pemba Township.
Background and Education
I was born on 26th December, 1986 in Mauka, chief Mapanza in Southern Province. I did my primary education at Mauka Primary School. In Grade 11 and 12, in 2005 and 2006, I was awarded overall best student at Prize Giving Ceremony from St Marks’ Secondary School where I did my secondary education. I obtained a secondary school teachers’ diploma in 2011 from Evelyn Hone College and a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Zambia in 2017.
Writing Inspiration
I was inspired by my lecturer Mr. Zachariah Ngoma to write. I began writing in 2014. In 2015, my first article titled “Dawn of the Red Sun” was published in a monthly magazine called Afro Magazine. I also write poetry.
Challenges
Challenges faced include lack of financial support for publishing, difficulty marketing books, and lack of reader interest for Zambian literature. Nevertheless, I continue to write because I feel it is my duty to add Zambian voices to world literature.
Other Interests
In addition to writing, I enjoy reading novels, poetry, and researching literature. I also love community service.
